The kids from my club done very well at the tournament over the weekend. It was a long day for me,I judged, coached and was a score keeper. Then it was my turn around 3 ish in the afternoon... I was very tired, but i done my form with out any mess up's I got first in forms  yay for me lol. Then it was time to spar,my friend had her match and she won by forfit, so then it was my turn. I sparred an older woman first and had a 7 point lead on her so I automatically won, then it was time for my friend and I to sparr. We were waiting for the day that we could spar each other at a tournament lol. At first she was winning, but then in the second round or our match I was throwing out the front kicks and roundhouses and gained a 7 point lead so I won. and I got first in that too. It was a great day !!

Well heres how things went. It was a very long day. The kids did great I am proud of them, the majority of my club got gold and silver and some got bronze. The tournament was unorganized and very hectic.. Anyhow, there were 42 kids divisions, and it took so long to get through them, and when it finally started there were many kids I had to judge for forms, all did very well. And I could't wait for the sparring to start, there were three people from my club coaching, myself being one, but then the other female coach lost her voice and couldn't coach anymore, so it was left to myself and our instructor. I coached just about every kid from our club that came I was proud of them all. Not to mention just about all the kids that I coached won their match except for the odd one or two, but I was still very proud and they tried their best and learned a little something.  Now its the adults turn to compete, there were only 7 divisions of adults, so it went pretty quick, I was in division 7 with three other people. The forms they were doing I never seen before, but they were done well. Melissa a person from my club went up first, she done our form well I was proud, then a person from another club, then myself then another person from the same club as the one before me, then another girl. I got first place in forms  and Melissa got second, and the other three ladies got third forth and fifth. We all done well. Sparring time. That was fun but tiring, Melissa and one of the other club's females went up first, it was a tie then they had a tie breaker, and Melissa won then it was my turn, I didn't get any points  well I had points but the score keepers didn't see them, which sucked... I'm not sure what type of scorring anyones club has but here, its the first person to 12 or if a person has a 7 point lead on you. She had a 7 point lead on me, so that was that. Then Melissa had to spar the female that won against me, Melissa still tired from her match before didn't won that one, but it was very close, she ended up with second place, and I had a third place. And that was that, Melissa and I stayed to watch a little of the black belts so forms and spar, it was amazing... all the head kicks eeps lol. Anyway, thats how the day went.

Tournament Jitters

The tournament is quickly approaching and my club is training hard on sparring and forms. Myself and a fellow brown belt are training hard learning black belt form. Some of the students are getting nervous as the tournament is getting closer, some of the students are competing for the first time, and I am trying to tell them to keep relaxed keep a clear head and they will do fine. I remember what it was like when I was at my first tournament. Anyhow, we are training hard for the 19th. We are patiently waiting and wanting to see who will be at the tournament and see who the competitors will be. For those of you who know Canada, we will be competing in Dartmoth, NS. Its not usually a big tournament but its exciting to see who will be there. It will be my first time competing in Dartmoth so I don't know what it will be like, the only place I've competed in are in Sydney which is a huge tournament  I love it.. Anyway thats all for now

No Demo
Posted On 03/05/2008 18:40:09
Well it doesn't look like I will be having a demo this month. My instructor said we need to have a fundraiser so we can go to the next tournament so I had a bright idea to have a demo as a fundraiser, my instructor thought it was a great idea, he liked it alot. This was a month ago, I have mentioned it. So I have been planning for the last month for the demo, and just the other night, a few weeks away from the demo night, my instructor said there was no time for a demo this month, because there was a black belt testing, and my instructor wanted the black belts to decide who done what in the demo.. We were planning on having board breaking, sparring, forms, and weapons. You know, and no one said the black belts had to decide who done what. My friend and I were doing just fine in planning on what we wanted. But I guess when it comes down to it, it doesn't really matter. Its all the black belts. Oh well I guess theres always next month. As long as I get to have my demo before I leave I'm happy.

I GOT MY BROWN BELT !!!!!!
Posted On 02/23/2008 06:59:15
Boys and girls, I got my brown belt yesterday the 22nd, and boys oh boys it was a painfull process. Firts well it was easy just do hand strikes and a few kicks that wasn't too bad, then after that we done forms, second pattern first set, then green belt form then first blue tip and blue belt form, then we got a little break after that cause the yellow and orange belts that were going for their next belt had to spar, and I and 2 others had to get ready to spar, that was fun. It was 2 against 1 the whole time, but my instructor switched up who we had to spar about every 2 minutes, so all together I sparred 6 minutes, with out stopping, then came the board breaking, again I had to wait for the yellow and orange belts going for their next belt. then it was our turn ( the blue belts going for brown and green belt going for blue) I went second after the green belt, he done well. Then it was my turn. I had to break 2 boards with a hand strike, at first I done a straigh punch, but that didn't woke, but I did manage to leave some skin behind lol.. so then they took 1 away so I only had to punch 1 and I done a palm strike, and that didn't work at first, cause one of my instructors wasn't holding the board right, then the head instructor, came and pisitioned it for her, and told me to get under it and come up, and first shot I broke it :D,then I had to do a heal kick, and I broke through that one the first shot :D then I had to do a spin kick of some sort, the first one I decided to do was a jump spin roundhouse, that didn't work, so then I done a spin heal, and the first few times that didn't work, because the board wasn't held right, so then the head instructor took the board and held it for me, and correctly, then I broke through it. It was good and painful too lol.. But worth it :D

Story of how I missed my brown belt testing... the first time
Posted On 02/17/2008 12:03:17
Boys and girls. I'm getting my brown belt soon and I am so excited, I have waited a long tine to get it.. I missed my first chance to get it because I was out because I had surgery on my knee (injured in TKD) and had to miss it :( But now I am given the chance to get it again :D. I was actually surprised to hear my name in the list of poeple going for a testing, because I have only been back a few week.. I believe that this is my 4th week back since I had surgery (oh look theres that surgery coming up again lol).. Considering its showing up alot I will tell the story of what happened. I was in TKD class one night and we had to do knee pinches (jumping up and bringing your knees to your chest) and when I jumped my knee cracked in mid air, I landed and my knee cracked again, then I some how twisted, fell and landed on my knee. We had a big class that night and I was 3 rows back and my instructor didn't see me, so I had to get up by myself, in pain, I got up and hobbled over to the bench, it just so happened that I saved my knee from too much damage because I had a brace on. My knee was bothering me alot so I went to the doctor, and he said that I had pulled a muscle in my leg and just put hot and cold on it and I could go back, so I done that. But yet it was still bothering my alot, so then I went to see another doctor, and he didn't even look at me, he sent me right away 3 hour away to see a sergeon, and I had e-rays, and MRI's and we finally found out what was wrong with my knee, I tore the ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) and the cartilage in my knee, and a shocking surprise was there was too much damage done to my knee, so I had to see another sergeon that specialized in damaged ligaments... So then I had the surgery a few months later, and now I am all healed. And a year ago on the 16th of February I had surgery.. It's so good to be back in the sport I love. :D
