I missed my training in the worst way the past 2 months!! I held up pretty good because I KNEW Id be coming back, it was just the matter of getting the ok from my dr. I went back for the first time this past monday June 30th, we trained on the wavemasters, doing a LOT of punching and roundhouse kicks, my instructor made me take it easy and pace myself since it was my first day back. Even with the constant stopping I did to catch my breath I was REALLY worn out! WOW! I hope I never have to go that long again without my training!
While on hiatus I was having other things fixed as well. Im getting shots of Euflexxa in my right knee. Ive been having so many problems with it, not being able to kneel or fully flex without pain, and kicking was becoming a problem. So I went to my orthopedic surgeon and he recommended this after taking xrays and having a shot of cortosteroid that didnt help at all. Tomorrow is the 3rd and final shot in my knee. If you have ever had a steroid shot in your knee...multiply THIS shot by 20x! its not a think water like substance, this stuff is a thick clearish gel and when it goes in I want to rip what is left of the hair from my dr.s head! Yah it hurts THAT much, but then again Im a wimp when it comes to needles and squirting things into my body..hate it with a passion!
I probably wont see any results in my knee for about 2 months...so says the dr. but already I can tell that its working, my knee isnt creaking like it used to and it doesnt always "pop" when I squat down.
So now little by little I am going to fix each problem I have. Next are my shoulders...they grind something awful...I really dont like getting old and having arthritis! Do I have to have shots in the shoulders now too? I hope not! Maybe the muscles I am using in TKD will help stabalize them after time?
I rejoined with Jenny craig to help me lose this excess weight that I have been carrying for the past 14 years. Eleven years ago I lost 10lbs on the system, and that was without much exercising. Im much more informed now and much more active, I think the pounds will start to melt off with no problem this time around! I am in my 2nd week now and feeling great! I lost 4.2lbs the first week, this week I was able to fit into some clothes I had bought...and have never worn because they are my "goal" clothes! I do that once in a while, buy clothes are a a little too small in hopes of getting into them soon. Well its paying off...I have a buch of clothes that I will be able to wear now!
Alrighty then, Im off to training right now for the next hour! I might post again soon...I might not! But for those of you that are reading this...thank you for taking the time out to follow my not so perfect life!
