Hi all. I was going to post this in the forum but its not working for me for some reason. Anyway i've been doing tae kwon do for about 8 months now and i'm really enjoying it. One thing i really want to work on is my kicking, now whilst im not attempting to run before i can walk i feel i struggle a bit in some areas. Risng kicks and front snap kicks using both legs im happy with and i can get good height, action and posture with these however i'd like to work on my turning and side kicks. naturally my right leg is my strongest (in terms of when playing football etc) however in tae Kwon Do i'm always happy using my right leg as the supporting leg and my left leg as my kicking leg. The kicks i perform using this method are fine. Switching legs i fing difficult and i dont seem to be able to get the action correct or maintain balance. In addition when performing jumping kicks i find it easier to jump with my left leg and kick with my right. Are there any tips you guys could suggest to improve this? Or is it just a case of more practice? I'm a relatively fit guy and i train in TKD 2-3 times a week. In addition i do weight trianing (upper body) and other various cardio excercise as well as regular stretching. Thanks guys!
so i went back to training tonight for the first time in about 5-6 weeks. Been off due a nasty stomache infection :-( I must admit i thought it would be very hard getting back into training but i managed it (im sure tomorrow i will ache like hell) Luckily im back just in time to prepare for my next grading which is only a month away.
any tips on easing back into training?
Hey Guys, i'm going for my first belt on 16th Sept. Wish me luck Dave
I'm a bit of a fan of tattoos. I have 5 at the moment and will prob get a few more soon. What are your thoughts on Martial arts tattoos? I mean you dont wanna become a target for having a tattoo stating that u know karate/tae kwon do etc.....Its just asking for trouble really isnt it? However i was considering getting the 5 tenets of tae kwon do done on the back of my arm? Only someone that knows the art will know what it means and its not really advertising tha fact that i know any tae kwon do. Tae Kwon do is going to be a life long interest for me so i think i may go ahead an do it. :-)
The most unfair thing about life is the way it ends. I mean, life is tough. It takes up a lot of your time. What do you get in the end of it? A death. What's that, a bonus? I think the life cycle is all backwards. You should die first, you know, start out dead, get it out of the way.. You wake up in a an old age home, feeling better every day. You get kicked out for being too healthy, go collect your pension, then, when you start work, you get a gold watch on your first day. You work 40 years until you're young enough to enjoy your retirement. You drink like a fish, party your "smile" off, - you've only got a few years left, so why not?!? Then you get ready for High School. You go to primary school, you become a kid, you play, you have no responsibilities, you become a baby, then, you spend your last 9 months floating peacefully with luxuries like central heating, spa, room service on tap, larger quarters everyday, and then you finish off as an orgasm! 12:08 - 0 Comments
