Victory Martial Arts !!!!!!!!!

MBA in Management & Finance
Certified Financial Planner - but not actively practicing
I've owned businesses & currently I am business consultant for a Fortune 50 company - really though, I work to fund my excessive TKD habit!!!!
I'm a wife, mom, sister, daughter, friend & love what those roles mean to the other people in my life.

Like many others, TKD has been life changing for me! I have spent my life as a personal trainer/group exercise fitness instructor, but that didn't have the same power as seeing the holistic/instrinsic/extrinsic effects that TKD has on people's lives. My goal is not only to excel in this sport by striving to be my personal best, but also to learn how to translate this to instructing and helping others actualize their goals!

Hope all is going well with your family and your training. I have hesitated to communicate with most ATA members so as not to cause them any issues with there instructors because I have been put on a Black List since switching to the NPTA. No one in my area (in the ATA) is permitted to speak to me anymore. You see I was a very vocal ATA School Owner. Respectfull, but vocal. I believe the Life Skills we learn of Respect, Courtesy, Integrity and etc. should go both directions, not just up the ranks.  So when I went toe to toe with Chief Master Clark at a School Owners meeting at World Championships 5 years ago about him telling us to enroll our Tiny Tigers in the Leadership Program or we were doing them a disservice and I respectfully asked how that was about anything but $$$, I learned it didn't go both ways.  He looked at me like I was a second class citizen and asked who my instructor was and then walked away. Later I was ripped apart by my Instructor (also a Master) for even daring to speak to Chief Master Clark and was basically in a nut shell told not to worry about testing for my Third Degree anytime soon like I was suppose to. I'm 52 years old and have been involved in the Martial Arts for 40 years, yes as long as Chief Master Clark and I have never been treated like I didn't deserve to even clean up after someone less alone be allowed to speak. I'm telling you this because I just attended a Camp in Oklahoma with the NPTA that has absolutely changed my life and I know now that I must tell everyone I can that there are leaders who care about you as a person and a martial artist not just politics and your $.  We all deserve to have them accesible and to feel like we belong. I would encourage your Master to contact Chief Master Perry and discover a better way. Take care and good luck to you and yours.

Peace'

Hello though mama! Thank you for your kind comment and friendship request.  I rarely visit this space anymore but I am glad I did today.  Thank you also for commenting on my blog.  Yeah, I was pretty frustrated back then, but things are much better now.  I guess keeping busy and training differentl way now really helped me.  Love your site by the way!

Hello "tough mama"....Thanks for the comment on my Blog. The NPTA is a great Association, and growing very quickly. Good Instructor support, and NOT all of the Fees like you see in the BIG Orgs. It is only $35. for a LIFETIME membership.  The NPTA believes we as Instructors should try to make our students as good or better quality than ourselves, this way the Association only gets better. Thanks for the compliment, my students do very well, so I guess I'm leading them in the right way, but THEY do the hard work.

I can understand what you mean by your 4 year old being a HOOT, our 15 month old daughter is a hoot, she is so funny. Being a daddy again at 46 (now 47) is a new adventure, and I love it. Little Mia Bianca is already learning TaeKwon-Do

 Take care.

Respectfully,

-Kevin

how are you doing today

Hey!  Doing just okay.  Had a terrific day at work and a sucky day at TKD. Tonight I felt like I couldn't do anything right. I sucked in forms, sparring and even in my pushups! Sometimes I feel like a bipolar martial artist.  I have amazing highs, but when I hit the lows, I get pretty darn low.  TKD is a tough sport for a perfectionist.

Enough about me.  How are YOU?

I also recently finished 90 minutes in heaven.  I agree it was life changing.  (My dad died in Nov and someone suggested I read it, so glad I did.)  I could also highly recommend The Shack.  It will have you thinking for ages!

You and your daughter are a beautiful pair.  I have a five year old and she is the light of my world.  Welcome.
