Aside from TKD? Music, film, philosophy, psychology. Watching people beat the crap out of each other on TV. Fitness and different ways of exercise. Starbuck's.

I am honored and humbled to be one of Grandmaster B.C. Kim's first students in the USA. Twelve years later, there are 3 of us still active in TKD, still on the path toward mastery.
I have trained under some of the best TKD players in history, including GM B.C. Kim, GM Je Kyung Kim, Master Dae Sung Moon (well, one class, anyway), and Master J. B. Park. That's kind of like being coached in basketball by the Dream Team! Plus, these men are excellent human beings.
The biggest moment of personal growth in my life so far was my second dan test in August 2001. My friends and I ground out a gruelling all-day test which seemed to be of epic proportions, and we triumphed.
I've been entrusted with teaching. I didn't ask to become an instructor, but I love it (well, most of the time anyway).

Hard rock, hard country, hard R & B. Old-school punk rock. Grunge. 70s soul music. 70s glam (not 80s glam). Hey, I graduated high school in 1978; what do you expect?

I'm not a big literature guy (yeah yeah, uncultured clod) but I like reading biographies and books about philosophy. Right now I'm reading "Think and Grow Rich".

Sparring Kings, Blue Cottage Taekwon-Do, Fighters

This holiday season, share your favorite Taekwando moments with custom photo Christmas cards.

Testimony?! TKD is one of many possible paths toward enlightenment and personal growth; it just happens to be one I stumbled ass-backwards into. How often do you get to take lessons from an Olympic gold medalist? You've got to take that opportunity.

I'm a philosopher and a fighter. I'm a grateful child of God and an angry misanthrope, depending on what day you catch me. I love people, especially children, but I require more solitude than most people. I'm committed to mastery (not just the title), but I'm not a fan of tradition for tradition's sake. I teach TKD and I'm a freelance fitness coach. I'm married with 2 kids and a son-in-law. I like dogs and hate cats; there are 3 cats and 2 dogs living in my home right now. I don't want to discuss religion or politics here, but I'm an agnostic liberal libertarian Taoist, sort of.

B.C. Kim World Champion Taekwondo, Portland OR. Grandmaster B.C. Kim won the men's featherweight gold medal at the 1992 Olympics.
