I began training in the martial arts at an american karate school at agae 6 were I trained for 5 years.(almost black belt then had to quit) Then I train for 6 0r 7 years under a retired green beret who was a 5th degree in japanese jujitsu a 5th degree in hapkido and a 6th degree in Tae Kwon do. I attained two black belts from him one in dan san ryu Jujitsu and one in tae kwon do. then I began training with Kwanchangnim(grandmaster) Chang Ki Oh from south korea. I studied with master chang for approximately 6 months 6 days a week 11 hours a day, sometimes living at the school. I learned many things from master chang that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. he was like a second father to me. after my six months with Master chang I joined the US army and I am currently stationed in south korea. I am still studying tae kwon do on my off time with a friend of master changs, he has sent me to train with a college taekwondo team here in korea until I had problems with my feet because of the army. I am currently in a cast and waiting to see if I will ever train again. I will only write my TKD testimony, because it would be pointless to write about myself because martial arts is all that I am, it defines me.when I got injured my life life kind of fell apart. Until recently when I met my fiancee here in south korea. she has helped me to find my hope again and I believe I will heal just fine and be back on the mat again in no time. anyway that is it, my testimony is that taekwondo and martial arts helped to form my life. taekwondo is why I have always been facinated with asia, it is why I am stationed in korea, also it is why I found the love of my life( and had to learn to speak korean because she didn't speak english). anyway always train hard and never give up.

Did you get to the World Military TKD Championships last weekend at SungNam? USA took a gold in men's Welter and bronze in female Fly weigth classes!  David Bartlett, who won the gold is our Olympic hopefull even though this years Olympic team is already selected.  Coach CW2 Kim, BongSok would have been the one that you would need to speak to about future All-Army Team camps!

Again between now and next year.  Need to compete as much as possible!  Area I, II and III Championships, Area I Invitational and etc...

They dont care WHO you train with, they want to see where you have placed in tournaments!  More 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishes the better!

Also the Armed Forces team will be competing in Seoul the last 2 wks of May.  At the World Military Championships, it would give you a chance to meet some team members and the coach!  My wife and I are going to try and go because some of the Army team members will there!!
