Testing and Monthly
I'm just curious how much does your school charge monthly, or every 2 months or whatever it is, and how much your testing were, if they went up by belt.

i teach at a university tkd club, and we are under the recreation service, and they set the price.  it's about $100 for a semester for university students, we have 2 classes a week.

for testing, we don't necessarily charge anything, but we accept donations.  and with testing fees, we donate to other charity as a tkd club.  we almost don't make any profit out of merchandises (uniform, sparring gears, etc) - around $5 more per item to cover shipping charges, and whatever's left over goes towards equipments we can use.

We pay by the month and yes, we have contracts.  The cost depends upon the length of the contract; sign up longer, pay less.  I know that some people have strong feelings regarding contracts in MA, but I can see both sides of it.  As a lifelong martial artist with zero desire to change schools, it doesn't bother me in the least, but thats just me.

We hold gradings every two months, though not all students grade every two months.  Tests get progressively more expensive the higher you go, though not to the point of ridiculousness.  Not sure what the first dan test runs; I'll know later this year, hopefully.

Ours is mostly the same but we have one contract of six months. We have testing every two months just like you, until you get to red and then it's every four months (unless your asked to test early) which doesn't happen a lot I hear. Of course Dans are gonna be longer lol. And, it does get progressionally higher as yours does. Thanks a bunch I love to hear about other schools, because I've only been to mine and none other, I really appreciate it a lot. I'll know about our black belt soon too :) When are you supposed to test for 1st Dan? You will do great :) Send pictures when you get some
