HGH for Seniors

Sylvestor Stallone has no qualms about his use of human growth
hormone to to bulk up for the latest “Rambo” feature. The 61 year old
actor even endorses it for people over the age of 40.

In a recent interview with Time magazine Stallone says, “HGH (human
growth hormone) is nothing… Anyone who calls it a steroid is grossly
misinformed.”

He went on to share, “Testosterone to me is so important for a sense
of well-being when you get older… Everyone over 40 years old would be
wise to investigate it because it increases the quality of your life.
Mark my words. In 10 years it will be over the counter.”

HGH may well be the fountain
of youth. Thousands of studies show that raising HGH levels can
help prevent and even reverse the aging process.
Could it be that it may be possible for us to stay middle-aged until we
are 70 or 80 years old and then go on to live healthy, vibrant lives
until we are well over 100???

The US federal government has a very dim view of those who prescribe or promote HGH for anti-aging

.... but what are your thoughts about HGH?

There are probably instances when hgh is an appropriate treatment.  But I think that that is a physician's call, not something to be decided by the general public.  I have seen enough people in their seventies who are in fantastic shape due to good, clean living and continued exercise (look at Jhoon Rhee) to be skeptical of the need for a general endorsement of hgh.

No, hgh is not a steroid.  Stalone is correct about that.  But altering quantities of naturally occuring subtances in the body just for the sake of fitness and muscle building is, in my opinion, a mistake.  I think that people over forty are served better by cutting out eating junk food than by adding a growth hormone.
