Arthritis
Hey all,

has anyone had total or partial hip replacement and come back from it? I'm probably looking at a total on the left and a partial on the right. My old ortho/sports medicine doc in DC, said it was a matter of time (or how much pain I can stand). I'm looking for a second opinion in Raleigh.

Anyways, has anyone had this surgery, or had it reccomended.

Oh my that is some surgery to be had.

Did you get your 2nd opinion yet?

Is this from years of doing martial arts?

What are the chances of you returning to training afterwards??

My Dad did a while back and while he is getting along great with it, still has fears of it popping out. I would think that will be it. I hope not but fear it. My left knee went from uncomfortable to "gosh its hurting" and now " ouch putting on this sock is painfull". I will suffer it though to keep training until its tears time.

Updates
I found an Ortho in Raleigh/Cary. They funnel all of their patients through their spine center first, so we now know that it's not a back or sacral injury, although I do have an extra proto-vertebrae (it's called a Spina-Bifida-Oculus?)

I'm on anti inflamatories and physical therapy, and it's helping some, along with modifying my work out (no rope work, running, jumping of flying kicks). I'm seeing one of their sports medicine certified orthos tomorrow, the diagnosis is going to be a long process...

There's more X-Rays, MRI's and probably Cortezone in my future.

UPDATE 6/24... looks like Bursitis, cortezone shots really truly suck.
