A worn out topic on most martial arts forums to be sure, but I figured that I'd phrase it as 'favorite' weapon, rather than the typical 'best' weapon.

My favorite is sword, specifically the katana, though I am also a sucker for anything with a swept hilt.

i would have to say my favorite weapon is beretta 92 - pretty much the only gun i was comfortable with.  like they say, when you got a gun, you don't gotta work out.

my 2nd favorite would be a beating stick, or escrima stick for those fancy folks.    hockey sticks and baseball bat are pretty nice, too.  i love my golf clubs too much to use it as a weapon...

My favorite weapon is the cane.  It can be very versatile.

I'm not familiar at all with training with weapons. However if i had to pick a weapon it would most possibly be the Bo-Staff or Broadsword. I would like to try the 3 section Bo staff aswell. Difficult as it looks to not hit yourself in the face lol

Haven't tried the gun rout; I've fired a pistol or two and a shotgun once or twice, but never got too far into the marxman thing.  I've done archery fairly consistently, though I've let that slide a bit in recent years.

Now that my kids are older, I've thought about taking up a fire arm.  Maybe a .45 longslide... with laser sighting.

as for training for flashy suff, i love anything. its all fun for me. but for a beatin weapon,bo staff and escrima sticks are handy, easy to find, and so fun to use.  im also partial to yawara sticks- little pieces about the size of a sharpie for joint locks. the knife i carry actually works pretty well for joint locks when unopened, and its always funny to show my friends what a joint lock or takedown is.

broken staffs-are painful. get good with a normal staff first-when you can do a butterfly spin REALLY fast with a staff, try it with a sectional. its an interesting experience.

I like Nunchaku and Escrima sticks (Kali).  I do like Tonfas but never really been taught, just doing my own stuff.  I thought I would like Sai's but couldn't really get into it and I did like the sword.  I have not yet tried Bow Staff or any other weapons so I I guess, I am limited to what I know but really enjoy swinging my Nunchaku (or Numbchakue as my husband calls it) and my Escrima sticks.

I've recently started training in Kum ye do.

And I'd like to learn bo staff.  It seems the most practical of the weapons in modern times.
