Err, well i have metal pins that are holding my hips together..sooo...uh not much i can do for them..but i am getting my right one removed, since its interfering with my flexibility..my left one on the otherhand, the bone grew around it..so its like in a shell of bone, so its staying there forever..but if ever gives me pain i take ibprofen, which really helps. i take it before i train, and it helps alot...soo yea.

as for the back..use a brace under your uniform?

Yes, I have lower back problem as well.  I take Advil before my workout.  I have a problem doing 360 jump round house kick for this reason but if I am warm and I start slow, I'm usually ok.

After I train, I usually take another Advil (usually if I start to feel pain), and hit the jacuzzi.  That seems to help me.

There are some back warm up exercise you could do I suppose but that doesn't seem to help me.

Hmm, I wonder how I could talk my parents into buying a jacuzzi...

I have lower back problems.  One of the specific problems is that one of the vertebrae "pops out" as it were, when I kick high.  Right now it doesn't go back into place correctly so I'll get a lot of pain, especially when doing push-ups and other kicks, spinning kicks, etc.  I have weekly appointments with a (holistic) chiropractor and he's given me an exercise to strengthen the muscles around the vertebrae so that it eventually go back into place properly.

Many people argue that chiropractic work is useless or fake; I probably couldn't walk if I didn't go to mine.  I would highly recommend a holistic chiropractor if you can find one in your area.

i injured my lower back in 2001, now it's almost stable most of the time.  this was the first winter that i had no "slipping" disc.  had couple weeks of intense tightening of lower back though...

like yokixx said, my lower back is usually ok as long as i warm up properly and take it slow at first.  also, doing the full upper body rotation slowly few times help.

i've tried back braces under uniform, but the sweat caused rash, and i just looke really ridiculous wearing it outside of uniform...

on a daily basis, i hang upside down on inversion table for 3-5 minutes in the morning and at night.  been doing that for about 3 years now, and if my lower back gets tightened, it works really well.

I have had lower back pain since i was about 14 and snapped my coccyx in a skateboarding incident.

I have MRI's every 6 months and cortisone injections into both sides of my 4 and 5 vertibrae every 6-12 months as well due to degenerative discs.

To counteract the back pain i do TAEKWONDO!! I have found it has worked wonders as its strengthed up the muscles which stops my back flexing as much as it did.

Most of the time it is your hamstring that is too tight and that leads to lower back problems. You need to keep stretching and maintaing training.

I have back and hip issues, but not from training.  I was a year from my black belt test in 1996 when I was in a rear end collision.  I was hit hard enough to hit the car in front of me.

I went to the chiropractor, for about 6 weeks until I ran out of money from the insurance settlement.  My flexibility was severely affected.

I earned my black belt a year later, but certain things made it so painful.  I hate taking medication, fear if I take it, it'll lose its effect when I really need it.

I continued to train, after black belt, but not as much as I once did.  About 8 years later I began to train once again, full time, and then a year after that I began even more, as I teach and train.

I just recently got medical insurance though work, and have been seeing a Chiropractor again for about a month.

Though my hip isn't wedged in a weird position, I do still have damage.  Some of it from the accident, and some of it I was born with, and really didnt' know I had the problems until the injury.

My leg is 3/4" lower than my left.  This makes my right hip 3/4 inches lower than my left.  It causes pain when I land heavy on my shorter leg.  It also hurts when I do specific kicks without extra warming up.  The chiropractor is got everything back in line, but now I have to wear a wedge in my right shoe.  I can no longer train barefoot.  I take advil only in rare situations.  I continue to stretch, because it is worse when I don't.

Oh, sorry for the long post. ;)
