I was planning to but i regretably have decided against it because of the distance away it is(all the way in Nottingham) I went to the British last year and i had to get up at 4AM in the morning to get ready and get there by 9AM. It was terrible. I was soooooooooooo tired lol. Maybe when i start driving will i drive to more competitions myself woohoo.
I'm learning to drive no so hopefully pass by summer yay!

Linda, look for our North Coventry flag, we take it to every tournament hehe. I'll be competing as green tag althought i'll have done my green belt grading by then and hopefully passed, but i think we have to enter as what we are now? Come and say hi

4AM!!!! Seriously?? And to think i was complaining about leaving at 7 lol. Good luck with your driving test when you take it.

I'm entering patterns for the first time and i'm pretty nervous! I usually just do the sparring. Any tips?

As a personal thing for competitions i always enter Patterns and Sparring. I got 2nd in Patterns and the British champs last year so im sure i can give you some advice.

The most obvious one is do the pattern you know more or like more. I did Do-San last year. Stances are the basis for all your techniques so once you have stances near perfect, move onto perfecting the power and overall technique of the moves.(if doing do-san i find after the release technique the spin usually throws me off course) especially on carpet.

RELAX!!!!!! i cnt stress that enough. The Adrenaline will be pumping through you but stay calm and focused. Remember to turn your head in the directing your moving, they look for that.

Thanks for the advice, well done for gettin 2nd place thats awesome  I was going to do Do San but changed my mind to Dan Gun. I get really nervous when people are watching me do patterns even if its just my class. I decided to go for it and try and get over the fear lol its weird I dont mind if people watch me sparring. Hopefully I dont mess it up!

This January we competed in the Netherlands and we had to leave at 2 am to catch the plane at the airport 320 kms away. The trip was fun, anyway... 4 am at least allows some sleep...

lol I just have a problem getting up early, usually just sleep most of the way anyway! At least leaving at 2 you didnt have to go to sleep then get up early. How did you do at the tournament?
