Hold on narcsarge...

I have GOOD advice for this young lady.

ellerelle...

1.)  SEEK PROFESSIONAL ATTENTION...(e.g. doctor of orthopedic medicine)
2.)  DO everything that doctor tells you to do.
3.)  DO ask for a referral to a physical therepist when the doctor feels you are ready and make SURE he/she refers you to a physical therepist/athletic trainer, who IS well versed in sports related injuries and rehabilitating athletes to get back to their sport SAFELY.
4.)  DO NOT... and I "MEAN" this... DO NOT rush back and try to do everything you could do before the injury, too quickly.
5.)  DO NOT... and I "MEAN" this also... DO NOT TRY TO 'tough it out'.  THAT is STUPID and may lead to a MUCH longer recovery time for you.

Your body did not betray you... what it sounds like to me... is that you might have been more fatigued than you initially realized, during your training, and THAT may have led to your injury.

The solution then... is simply "BE KIND TO YOUR BODY".  Take your time getting back to training.  Make SURE to take ALL the time you need to do the following...

1.)  HEAL the injury PROPERLY
2.)  REHABILITATE your body, by following a doctor monitored, physical therepist/athletic trainer prescribed period of exercises and stretches, at the pace THEY set for you.
3.)  ONCE you are BACK in training... START OFF SLOWLY... reteach your body how to perform your techniques...  (this 'back to basics' training, will get your head, which knows you can do TKD, and your body, which also knows you can do TKD and your heart, which knows you can do TKD, ALL singing off the same sheet of music together so that as you practice and 'build back up slowly', you gain 'healthy' confidence over time in your abilities to continue training.)

Don't rush things... whatever you do... and DO get medical professionals involved here.

God only issues you ONE body... and you only get two knees... one for each leg... treat them for the priceless gems they are, and take care of yourself.  You've got your whole life to train in Taekwondo.

Don't cheat yourself from being able to do Taekwondo for life, by rushing your healing and recovery period, OR your 'remedial training' once those periods are up.  Take your time...  Your body is worth that extra bit of care and respect.:)

thanks for that Ranger, seems to be a rare occurance in this world, finding someone that actually makes sense, lol

sounds like decent advice, if a little hard to follow some of it, given that I've only been out for a few weeks and it's already getting on my nerves not being able to train, but, big picture, right?  By the sound of it, given time and the right help I'm sure I'll get there eventually  My instructor is always on at us to set ourselves goals to achieve, suppose this is no different.

Once again thanks, appreciate it
