Yes I have tried this holder and made my own review (but it wasn't on this site - if I did I cannot find it) I did have the link to The Bolder on my page for awhile as well
http://www.matoolz.com/
I've been corresponding with the gentleman who came up with the idea of The Bolder.
I was very impressed by viewing the videos and I mentioned to him that I would seriously be interested in trying this out.
He sent one out to our school and we tried it.
We however use wooden 1 inch think boards and hardly ever just break one board - unless for speed breaks where there is no need for a holder.
Unfortunately the wooden boards we use (breakingboards.com or from Home Depot) did not slide very easily into the holder.
Included are some rubber discs in various thicknesses to apply to close the gap between the board and the holder. And it is only good for one board only so we really would have no use for it except maybe for the beginners childrens classes and quite frankly they don't hit hard enough to worry about your fingers.
The creator of this holder explained that 1” boards are not consistent. The Vision 1” boards are actually thinner than other 1” wood boards and the black discs are better for Vision wood boards. However the Vision boards may not be consistent either. A Karate Instructor on the video used Century 1” wood boards and they worked perfectly. Another instructor cut their own 1” wood boards from Home Depot and they worked perfectly as well.Seems I was the only one who had a problem!
I also got this same email = AWMA is now selling The Bolder. I sent MA Toolz an email regarding this and congratulating them for getting it out to the broader market.
He also mentioned that they are designing a Bolder for multiple wood boards and one that adjusts as well, in order to accommodate all rebreakables and deals with the slight variance in thicknesses of all boards.
So perhaps my review was beneficial!
