Any advice greatly appreciated....

Went to training last night and during some free sparring one of my turning kicks was blocked and had some kind of impact between oppositions forearm and my toes.

I was immediately in a lot of pain and given ice by my instructor. The pain hasn't gone and to be honest it is making me cry at times  I find it hurts all the time when I'm walking and what have you (and aches when I'm sat down and it's not being used) but occasionally I'll catch it at a particular angle when I'm walking and get horrific pain shooting right through my foot, bad enough to make me cry out.

I'm gutted because I'm supposed to be competing tomorrow so if anyone has any wonder cures or ideas of what it could be...they'd be greatly appreciated

Ow! Have you been to the hospital?! It sounds like it could be broken...

If yours is the same case as mine, I've suffered that lots of time. My toes keep striking the hand mitt instead of my instep when doing turning[if u meant roundhouses, in singapore we call it turning kick] kicks. After that when I tilt my big toe up it will hurt, but for a day or two only.

I agree that you should get it checked out.  That being said, if it is a broken toe, most of the time the hospital will tape it to an adjoining toe to stabilize the injured toe.  If its a broken bone in the foot I am not sure what the hospital does.

Best to have a professional take some xrays and get a definitive answer before trusting us on this board!  Sore and broken toes and fingers kinda come w/ the territory I am afraid!

Thanks for the replies. I haven't been to the hospital as I was informed there's not much they can really do anyway, so it seemed silly to take time off work for nothing.

I'm really just gutted about missing out on the competition, but still gonna go along...and secretly hoping for it to be miraculously better by the morning!

Still in lots of pain, but finding that maxing out on painkillers is helping me maintain the ability to walk.
