Have gas prices affected your TKD practice routine?  How?

Ha ha, I'm such a loser- I smirked at the title of this post!

No, because the venue isn't too far from me, I haven't really noticed any difference. Petrol prices are absurd over here, though- it's £1.15 or something like that per gallon. I'm getting a new(er) car soon, which is automatic (automatic transmission- most people drive manual cars here), so I hope that doesn't affect my fuel consumption too much....

i teach 6 days a week and as i travel quite a bit to and from different towns ( 13 different training venues ) i have noticed my fuel costs almost double in the past few years.  i think it might be time for me to invest in a star trek teleporter

Hate to break it to you but Auto's generally use more fuel; as they rev higher before changing; but just the fact that its a newer car should help. If your really concerned about it, go for one with an override, like a paddle shift.

Luckily not a problem I'll have as I'm moving into a place 60 yards form my dojang on sunday!

Don't worry Maddog, that's the first thing I thought of too

The price of gas makes me quite hot under the collar, but no - it hasn't stopped me from going to TKD at all. I just grumble and go.

I thought Brit's were using litres for gas measurement - are they still on gallons? Are you using Imperial gallons as a measurement? If so, I wish I were you. Here in Canada we are at $1.25 cdn per litre and that's not bad since it's dropped down from $1.43 cdn per litre. Grumble, grumble, grumble...

Cheers.

Gas prices have hit my wallet hard, I use to live about 5 miles from where I train but since moving I have to drive an hour to get there (moved in January) but the thing I don't like is the fact that I put on at least 300 miles a month for my job and they only pay 30 cents a mile .

My mind was in the gutter as well when I first saw this as well.

BH you get to write off the difference which will probably be 55 per mile in Jan for your taxes.

in Atlanta GA. we can not get gas.  their are fights that break out daily about people cutting in line when they find a station, rationing like the 70's pull up and you can put $25 in your Hummer. i remember when gas was $0.70 per GALLON in 1997 here in GA. now it is $4.00+ if you can find it.

it has not affected my TKD routine, but I am aware of trips, $95.00 to fill up slurps out loud.  It will affect our travel [plans this fall for tourneys...

Mr. B.

Mr. B.

F-G, I'll be doing that, right not it's 51.5 cents per mile. Also I get to write off half my insurance with the company because I have to use my personal vehicle and sometimes I get free oil changes, but no free filters or wiper blades.
