What do you guys think about poetry?  Do you guys write poetry?  What type do you enjoy (if you enjoy it)?  Can you give me some examples of your type of poetry (that you wrote or found)?  Just curious.

i wrote a poem called purple kush few years ago.  my english prof loved it, because he knew what purple kush was.  it goes like this

purple kush is my new crush

she makes my eyes blush

candy apple at its prime, showing off her lime

it ought to be crime, but she's so fine, she makes me dine.

smells so sweet, tastes great, time to celebrate

what it is to liberate and elevate

did not exist till purple kush

purple kush is my new crush

she makes my eyes blush.

my favorite poet would be t.s. eliot.  the love song of j alfred proofrock is my all time favorite poem. 

i also like simple word play (rhymes), which is why i like kanye west and talib kweli. 

I write a lot of songs does that count?

I'm also a TS Elliot fan, "She Being Brand New" is a favorite.

I haven't writtne any poetry in a long time, usually for guys that wanted something romantic for their girlfriends, I was well known for pulling sheakspear type rhyme out of the air.  I should write some more soon my for honey.

I'm a big fan of Robert Frost, Edgar Allen Poe and few others.  I love street poets, Def Poerty Jam is awesome, there use to be some youtube videos of some of them.  They cam to Des Moines, iowa once and I went and saw it, a street poet "Lemon" was my fav.

I like robert frost and edgar allan poe too but i dont read much cause i dont have time.  ive been writing a lot of poetry just to get my emotions out there so they dont bother me much.  its a way to get over things that have happened to me.  some girls thimk its romantic and some guys think that im good and should tey to amjor in it. 

i want to return back to my innocence

I want  to return back to my innocence. Back when simplicity was nigh and complexity was shunned. I want to embrace the lost thought that money was nothing but paper and music and dance was all I needed. I want o go back time where alcohol and mind games where not involved with all my peers. Where it was ok to use your imagination and the sky was new, and something new to learn was just around the Conner. I want to go back, before I let the world's mindset and problems poison my sprit and mind and orders my steps

Can I go back to the days that ice cream and a hug and 50 cents was worth more then 500.00? I wonder since one can't go back in time, can one go back to his or her old mind set? Back to a world not riddled with hormones and urges! When it was simply bliss to hold a girls/ boys hand and spend the day dreaming in there eyes? Can we all go back to when it did not matter where you came from nor how much money lined you pockets or fill your accounts, back when it was you aptitude and your personality that depicted your friendship. Is it just the teaching of our fathers and our fore fathers that entrap us, that told us the ski in the limit and there is nothing called a free lunch. Is it the mind set of those around us, that depict the array off rules that shackles and binds us to this false ground that was painted and left an echoing sour song in our mind that we can never fly? 

I oppose some teachings from our fore fathers, thow some where good but some can be grater. We must up hold tradition but upgrade our march and stride. We must embrace the future because, or it will change us weather we want to our not. I will climb in places that were once told unclimbable. I will run where people have told me others have failed. I will sing songs that where told impossible to sing. I will touch things that many have dreamed to touch; I will not be eclipse by mystics of things I don't under stand, and be blinded by falsie hear say because of there misunderstandings on the subject. Yes, the world is round and it's dieing because cause our mothers taught us that fusel fuel and luxury should be our endeavor and may have forgotten to tell us that money is not everything. I will be a pioneer in the age of Information. I will do all this because one simply can't go back in time but because, I can change my minds set. This is the key to greatness and I will turn the key slowly and I will become great and my sons will look at my steps and say we must up hold tradition but upgrade our march and stride. And they will wonder can I go back to innocence.

My definition of love

Love is not a word I throw around like a ball at an elementary P.E. class.

My love is linked to my core. My love goes deeper than the ocean. My love does not just stop skin deep.

When I love a woman, I love her past the flesh and bone to her sprit, From the natural world to the sprit World, That means if she burned or deformed, I will still love her. Even if the world out-casted her. If she was to make a poor choice and God was to turn His back on her, I would be like Adam and eat the apple too, to be banned form the garden for ever. I would toil the land and search for roots and herbs to make her child bearing easier.  

 Long after her eye site grows dim and her hair turns gray or silver, I will hold her like the son holds the earth in place. Even if she is damned or blessed, forsaken or forgotten, I would stay with her like a good captain that goes down with his ship. I'd love my baby if she is fat or skinny or Crazy or sane.  See her body is temporary but her sprit will live on for ever. Each person, weather they are man or woman was made by the Maker; I respect his work even the female form. So many forget that we are all or his children.

 So many people don't see people for who they really are, instead they see just the cloths they where, and fail to see past the mask and paint and hair styles.  Heaven whispers faintly in the dark "things are not always the way they seem". 

So many people have lost and forget  what love is. I pray I never forget. And if I do I hope some one that read this reminds me what love is.

You said you admired me, Is it true?  If not let me be.  I'll keep acting like a brute.

They said you loved me, Is it true?  I dont know...  If you wanted to...

I thought you hated me, Is it true?  It doesnt matter.  I still love you.

I wrote this poem a couple of days ago and almost everytime a girl reads it they ask if I can make them a poem or make them a poem.  Eventually I agreed to make them diffrent poems because this was for someone special.  Anyway that was one of the short ones.  The long ones arent that good and the others are all about hatred and give the wrong message.  This is also one of my favorites.
