how do you measure the force of a strike?

Being an Historian, this is a stretch for me but...

Force=mass * acceleratopm

That said, I think more proper question is how effective is a strike?  For example...a man who can lift a 600 lb boulder can do little more than hold it so it does not crush  him.  Conversly, a man who can lift and throw a pebble is a more effective fighter.

There is also equipment out there that you can attach to equipment that takes out the need to do math. Cen. Martial Arts has one for about $100 I think.

discovery channel or nat geo just had a series on this topic i tivod,  it was very cool.  force is PSI or in Newton Meters  or did i have toomuch gas in the lab???

Force is in newtons.

Workdone = Force x distance = Nm or J

Power = workdone/time = J/s ? lol i forgot -.-
