how do you measure the force of a strike?

Being an Historian, this is a stretch for me but... Force=mass * acceleratopm
That said, I think more proper question is how effective is a strike? For example...a man who can lift a 600 lb boulder can do little more than hold it so it does not crush him. Conversly, a man who can lift and throw a pebble is a more effective fighter.

There is also equipment out there that you can attach to equipment that takes out the need to do math. Cen. Martial Arts has one for about $100 I think.

Force is in newtons. Workdone = Force x distance = Nm or J
Power = workdone/time = J/s ? lol i forgot -.-
