I'm not going to turn this into a politcal tit for tat. You and I agree on a lot and I value your opinion but given the alternative I'd vote McCain-Palin all day long instead of the Obama-Biden duo. Here are a few reasons why: OBAMA: Change we can believe in." CHANGE #1: Despite Pledging To Withdraw American Troops From Iraq Immediately, Barack Obama Now Says He Would "Refine" His Policy After Listening To The Commanders On The Ground. This change came after McCain pointed out his plan was ridiculous. CHANGE #2: Despite Pledging To Accept Public Financing, Barack Obama Has Reversed His Position And Opted Out Of The System. CHANGE #3: Barack Obama Is Backtracking On His Support For Unilaterally Renegotiating NAFTA could it be due to the fact that the Clinton machine pushed this through and now he doesn't stand a chance without that same machine. CHANGE #4: Barack Obama Is Considering Reducing Corporate Taxes Despite Having Called Corporate Tax Cuts "The Exact Wrong Prescription For America" CHANGE #5: Barack Obama Has Changed Positions On The D.C. Handgun Ban CHANGE #6: Barack Obama Has Shifted From Opposing Welfare Reform To Celebrating Welfare Reform In A Television Ad CHANGE #7: As A Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama Criticizes The Administration's Energy Policy Despite Having Voted For The 2005 Bush-Cheney Energy Bill CHANGE #8: Barack Obama Has Shifted Positions On Nuclear Power CHANGE #9: Obama Adviser Said Obama Was Not Opposed To An Individual Health Care Mandate Despite His Opposition During The Primary CHANGE #10: During The Primaries, Barack Obama Pledged To Filibuster Any Bill Which Contained Immunity For Telecommunications Companies Involved In Electronic Surveillance, But Now Backs A Compromise Bill CHANGE #11: Barack Obama Disagreed With The Supreme Court Decision Striking Down The Use Of The Death Penalty For A Convicted Child Rapist Although In The Past He Opposed The Death Penalty CHANGE #12: Barack Obama Has Backtracked From His Earlier Commitment To Meet With The Leaders Of State Sponsors Of Terror "Without Precondition" CHANGE #13: After Saying Jerusalem Should Be "Undivided," Barack Obama Has Since Backtracked CHANGE #14: As A Presidential Candidate, Barack Obama Has Backed Away From His Earlier Support For Normalized Relations With Cuba And Ending The Embargo CHANGE #15: Barack Obama Is Against The California Ballot Measure Banning "rawr" Marriage Despite His Assertion That Marriage Is Between A Man And A Woman CHANGE #16: Barack Obama Says That "Mental Distress" Should Not Be Reason For A Late Term Abortion Which Contradicts His Past Extreme Pro-Abortion Views CHANGE #17: Barack Obama Said He Would Debate "Anywhere, Anytime" But Has Rejected Joint Town Hall Meetings CHANGE #18: Obama said he would fund an early childhood education initiative by reducing funding for NASA, and said that he was not convinced that human exploration was worth the cost. Then, after Democrats in Florida and Texas complained, he endorsed adding $2 billion dollars to the NASA program. CHANGE #19: Obama contends throughout the primary, that although he doesnÂ’t have much experience, his "judgment” as exemplified by his opposition to the Iraq war, qualifies him for the Presidency. Then, he chooses Joe Biden, a man who voted for the war, to be his Vice-President. Why would he choose someone with such poor “judgment?”
Season, I'm not a republican or democrat I vote for the team that I think could do the most good for the country. Given the 2 choices, if I had to vote today it would be for McCain, but the election is still pretty far away. I had just about give up completely until Palin came on board since Ron Paul had been boxed out.

Personally I dislike the discussion of politics (especially on a martial art site ) ... but let it be said that there are quite a few anti-Obama videos that can be posted here as well that will also make you question whether "people like this should not be running our country" - and some rather scary ones at that

Tae Kwon Do is practiced by 70 million people in 180 different countries. If everyone who studied Tae Kwon Do joined hands, they could form a line that would stretch around the globe 1.25 times!

I'm an independent and can think for myself, so I find campaign ads worthless and pro/anti candidate ads/vids equally worthless. I know where they stand on the issues and how they vote. I make it my business to know because it is my responsibility to do so; voting is probably the single most important freedom that we have in this country. I assume that the add is anti-McCain? I can't see it due to the fact that my company blocks You-Tube. But regardless, a pro/anti candidate video posted with no discourse is of little value. Season, I'd much rather see you articulate your thoughts and views on the candidate in question. That makes for good discourse. Here's a link to a site that is non biased and presents where each candidate stands and what his or her voting record is. http://www.ontheissues.org/default.htm Daniel

I've met both canidates, the only I haven't met is Palin. I've had one on one interviews with them, Obama in Storm Lake Iowa and McCain in Des Moines Iowa. To be honest neither one impressed me too much. Obama drew a lot of people but behind the scenes he yells at his staff and treats them like dirt, I saw it and other reporters I've talked to that have met him did the same thing.
McCain was straight forward with his answers but they seemed a little too practiced even when I threw him off with some weird questions. The thing with me is that with meeting candidates, I have all the press releases that state their views, the newspapers I work for aren't looking for statements on policy they want to know the candidate, so I would be off the wall my questions just to give people a view into what the people are like, trust see the reaction you get when ask a candidate what is their favorite ice cream flavor. When looking at stories and blogs look for ones that are from reporters and they aren't endorsing anyone but talk about the candidates. You might learn more about the candidates then any ad that is posted.

And there in lies the problem for you reporters and editors! Too many loonies have made print-press meidia types look and sound like left leaning wackos! Now a days, it seems the media's only job is to keep the country to the left by giving politicians on the left a pass and demonizing anything that goes right. Reporters put forth the views enforced by the company that writes their checks (I understand that totally). I am not saying you are involved like that B.H. but since you do work in the print press and you know the electronic medium as well, you know how tough it is for anyone that truly wants to get the truth out. God Bless you if you are to do that and hopefully people will believe it when you "tell it like it is."

I'm well known for being a straight shooter, some people don't like the fact their names aren't brought up every other paragrahph but not everyone will be happy. sarge I was waiting for you say that print is dead, I refuse to allow my paper to endorse any candidate, we do have people that submitt letters endorsing a candidate but we as paper do not. As an editor, I'm told not talk about sex, politics and religion. The only semi political column I'm allowed to write is encouraging people to vote, which I think everyone of age should do, I don't care who you vote for as long as you do. I do cover politics and report what the people say, the only editoral things I do to it, is set up the place the interview took place and I will cut some quotes if they repeat themselves. I find it fun to meet all the candidates because I can become a more informed voter. Sarge, I'm not upset with your comments, you have a right to your views and for big market media (large city dailies) I would say you are mostly right in my opinion.

It is really scary - who's been in the Whitehouse; who's screwed up. I think more people should get out there and vote! Didn't post this to get responses. The more informed people are the better. Statistics show that not many people vote...especially young people. As a lover of controversey, I couldn't resist showing this one - of many - videos. It does shed light on the fact that McCain hasn't done what he said he was going to do in the past so therefore doesn't have a good reputation in my book anyway. Basically, I think the video is funny and I am using it to get more people interested in voting!

I believe the vid is basically comprised of interviews by various people with McCain. It shows that he says one thing to one person in one interview, then he says the total opposite in another interview with another person. Actually, it shows him flip-flopping back and forth in several interviews. The jist I think is a pattern of inconsistancy and the fact that he changes his mind with the wind.
