i thought that schools are supposed to have a moment of silence for the 9/11! but we didn't even do anything!!! what were you doing at the time of 9/11?

i was in the 3rd grade and when my teacher found out she put on the news and started crying ... cause her daughter worked near their ... but she was ok 

I was a senior in high school, when the first plane hit a teach came into my creative writing class and said what happened, I didn't believe him since he was known for playing jokes. The second plane hit when I was lifting weights, the reports came over the emergency station in the weight room,  the room was closed and then all the students were sent home.  I lived in St. Louis at the time which has a lot of federal buildings and the city shut down and locked upped.

Well I live about an hour away from NYC and although fortunately nobody in my immediate family or circle of freinds were killed.... I knew of freinds of friends and relatives of friends that were.

I was on my way to work that morning. I had to be in at 9:00 and was listening to a NY radio station when they reported what at the time they believed was a small plane colliding with the building.

I pulled into my parking spot and came into the travel agency where all the agents were crowded around the tv in the customer waiting area. We were all in shock as we watched. Then we checked to see if any of our clients were flying that day. The phones were ringing like crazy that day. Flights were being canceled left and right.

I was in college at the time and was running late leaving home.  The Good Morning America was on the tv.  As I reached for the remote to turn off the tv on my way out some thing caught my eye in the window behind the news casters.  There was a plane flying eirily low. I watched in disbelife as the plane drew closer to the first tower, and then disapeared into the tower.  The date was September 11 and the time was about 8:07am.

I remember all the events of that day as if it was yesterday.  As I am typing this and recalling these tragic events I hold back tears of saddness.

I was a warehouse manager for a now out of business HVAC supplier.  The radio was on everyday and we all listened as it unfolded.  One of the guys had a small TV in his office, so he turned it on and we all watched as it unfolded.  We closed early that day.  At that time, I was going through the beginnings of my divorce, so it didn't have the full impact like it probably would have otherwise.

9/11

I was living in Las Vegas at the time, and for about two to three months the las vegas economy hit rock bottom.  A week after 9/11 over a million people lost thier jobs.  I was lucky that my job was not directly related to tourism and it took longer for my job to get hit by it. If it was not for the people from CA during that time Las Vegas never would have made it through.

I still have great simpathy for the lives that were lost that day, and even greater simpathy for those who had to live through the experance and still suffer to this day knowing how many firends and loved ones they lost.  Dieing is much easier then carring around the memorys that those who lived through it experanced.

This was a odd day for me.  I was planning on returning home for PA that night for a relatives funerial and my best friend from PA was preparing to return home a day or two later.  My plans to return home for the funerial clearly did not happen because by the time plans  started taking off again the funerial was already over.  It took my firend just over a week to get home on greyhound because like him everyone in other cities had to take buses home and he spend a few days at diffrent bus stations on standby.

i am very sad to hear  people still talking about the military being behind everything because that is just a sick thought.  I am thinking that they did shot down the one plane for security reasons.
