I dont know it seams like im not going any ware. Its like im putting so much effort into tkd and Im still messed up at it and it just seams to be taking up my time. I go to tkd class instead of sleeping or doing my home work. Im falling behind in class. last year I got all A's and this year im failing a class. tkd is the only place in really feel conferrable and feel excepted. I really wanna quite because I am more worried about my school work then tkd. I lost my passion for it and lost some friends because of it. Every time someone says " hey lets go to the mall!" Im all like "naw sorry I cant I have tkd". I just really wanna enjoy it again but I'm just depressed lately. Like for no reason I would just start to cry. I dont know if its depression or something, I hope not. I just want to find what I found in it once....

I love TKD and I love training in general but realistically if there is something that I want to do with my family, if I'm injured, for that matter if I am just toooo tired I will skip a class. I try and make up the training later. We missed last night after a 12hr shift at work I didn't feel like anything that I did at TKD would be beneficial. James and I are going in today and work the basics and speed drills for an hour or so and that will more than make up for what we would have done last night. When it stops being fun its time for a break. If it is interfering with school cut back on your TKD classes at this point school needs to be your priority. Re-energize yourself, step outside your comfort zone, and please cut yourself some slack. BTW if you to get excited about TKD, find a tournament somewhere out of town, grab some friends and combine a roadtrip with a competition. Nothing like going out of town, meeting new people, getting to know them a little and then kickin their butt.

They gave you great answers. There is nothing wrong with taking a break. TKD will be there when you are ready to come back.

I am a full-time college student with 13 hours this semester in college. I am also a full-time mom and I work. I find time to train but some days I am just flat out exhausted. Training at TKD is a 2 day per week minimum. Look at it like your exercise for the day. 30-60 minutes per day is healthy for physical fitness. Focus on school work is the most important thing. Education will take you far in life. TKD is also education but don't make it your entire world. Social life is important too so don't ignore your friends. You don't have to spread yourself thin because you will end up depressed and unhappy with your life. Healthy balances in life is important. if you have to, make a schedule and stick to it...for example: use a calendar and schedule specific days/times for homework, training, friend time, cleaning up time, alone time on a weekly basis and stick to it. Organization will help ease your tension and free up "thinking about stress" time to allow for more productive practices. remember 6 P's - Proper Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance You'll find that you can apply the principle to every aspect of life.

KC, listen to what people are saying, take a breather and enjoy life. School is top, my fiance wanted to stop class so that we could go get married and start a family but I've put my foot down and told her that she needs to finish school first. I know only feeling accpected in one area and in HS that was wrestling, I trained like a madman. And before TKD, I was a workaholic, but I've learned that there are more important things in life, I've taken over a month off from TKD to sort through some person issues and came back refreshed. Enjoy the break and enjoy living a litte.

Everyone has given very good advice. I'm a custodial single parent and work full time, so sometimes, I have to shift my focus from martial arts to family and work. That sometimes means cutting back to only one or two classes a week for a little bit until things settle down a bit. Best wishes! Daniel
