Most of our children are back in school or will be going back soon.
Here are some tips for you TKD parents to copy & print and put on your fridges.
Many TKD schools have their students bring in thoir progress reports and report cards and if your child improves their grades, make the honor roll or get straight A’s, they may receive a special recognition!
10 ways to get better grades.
1. Look at your teacher when they are talking. Remember to focus with your eyes, your mind and your body. These are the 3 rules of concentration and if you follow them, you WILL learn more.
2. Think about what the teacher is saying. Don’t just sit there and listen. You must actively think about what is being said.
3. Sit in a listening position. Remember to sit like a ‘10’. If you sit with good posture, you will feel more awake and ready to learn.
4. Do class work during class time. Do not procrastinate! If you save something for later simply because you do not want to do it now, soon you will have too much on your plate to finish anything.
5. Ask questions when you do not understand. There is no such thing as a stupid question. If you are too nervous to do it during class, write it down and ask the teacher later. But always ask the question. The more you ask, the more you learn.
6. Answer questions during class. Always trying to do this will force you to pay better attention. Even if you aren’t sure if you are correct, try to answer. People who participate this way, learn more.
7. Complete homework accurately and on time. See number 4. Never save for later what should be done now. Take your time and do it right!
8. Study for tests. Even if you think you know your stuff, you still need to study. We can always get better.
9. Ask a parent to quiz you for tests. This is great practice and will help you improve your score by a lot. Not only is this great practice, but this will show your parents just how hard you are trying.
10. Eat breakfast. This sounds weird, but you need your energy and breakfast is the most important meal of the day to energize you. Your brain will thank you.
