Okay for the record, Diana lopez should NOT have won that match. But I've heard worst stories about politics from a Grandmaster my family knows. Sometimes it's just sick.

I'm sorry, I was taught at a very early age by my father that if you kiss somebody's butt to get to the top you can be guaranteed of two things, the view won't have been worth it and you'll have nothing left but a bad taste in your mouth. Politics only control you if you let them. I was told in not so many words about three years ago that I wouldn't be allowed to test for my next rank if I didn't fall in line and play nice. My response was, "Whatever". I stopped playing juvenile games in Jr. High and I'm not about to start playing them again at 51. The only recognition I need is in my students eyes, nothing else truly matters. I personally believe I have found an Organization now that has it's heart in the right place and believes as I do, I hope you can find the same.

Ahhh... Mr. Warman.:)
Welcome to TKD Space.:)
I just heard not too long ago about your new direction. Congratulations!:)
I think your new organization's a pretty good one as far as groups go.:)
I think you'll enjoy the Chang Hon curriculum.:) (If not mistaken that's what is taught) I learned it in the ATA back in the early 80's and still practice it today along with my Songahm forms.:)

Thanks for the welcome Sir, have we met? You look familiar to me or has my rebel reputation spread to all of N. Ky. We couldn't be happier about the change, what a breath of fresh air. Learning a new set of forms is always interesting, I'm a compare and contrast kind a guy, so breaking down the differences always intrigues me.

Be glad you are competition these days since politics in TKD is not as prominent but still exists. During the 90's competitors lost or won based on who their master was.... I've experienced some losses due to that.

Well in some organizations, we must still be in the 90's because this still occurs. Especially if certain masters are sitting watching that particular ring because the person competing is their "most promising student" or one of their "head instructors" or a previous "world champion" or they happen to be hosting the tournament. This is one of the reasons I stopped competing years ago. That coupled with the fact that I stopped having anything to prove to myself or anyone else years ago and don't need anymore trophies to try and find someplace to put. Now if my daughters want to go, I'll take them and I'll judge to help whoever is hosting, but I don't have any desire to add any extra frustration to my life. We haven't had the opportunity to attend any tournaments with our new organization yet, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing the difference between Organizations.
