I've just found a site that helps with calorie counting, what you should eat, with all the knowledge of whats in which food.

Is anyone on it-if so has it help you? Or am I wasting my time??

i don't really count calorie accurately, because i think it's almost nearly impossible to know how much calorie i burn throughout the day.   so instead, i get very rough estimate of what i eat.  obviously, i won't be eating exact 200g of something for breakfast and 450g of something for lunch to keep track of my calorie intake, but i know roughly how much of what i should or shouldn't eat.
i eat 2 bowls of rice(breakfast and dinner, dinner with either some chicke/beef or fish), a sandwich(half around noon, and the other half around 3pm, about 90min before training), 1.5 apple, half package of tofu(2-3 hours before bed).  i don't quite remember the total amount of calories i would get from that, but i know i can squeeze in 1 medium coffee (1 sugar, 1 cream) in the morning and feel not too bad about it.  lol.
and now that i'm trying to lose weight, i just eat little less of everything.    i still eat 5 meals, and i bring some roasted grains(wheat, brown rice, 2 diff types of beans) to school, so i just munch on those if i get hungry between meals.

Hope that you like the website.  I started a forum thread on these type of websites here:

Please feel free to give your opinion of the one that you have found.  What do you like and dislike about it?  There are a few opinions on different sites on that thread and you take a look at the others.  I had not heard of the site you listed.  I might have check it out and compare to what I am already using.

I had a look-I couldn't find jacket potato on it!!! But to be honest only searched jacket pots and peanut butter!!!

I suppose I have got used to the one I have mentioned. Since writing this thread i've dropped 1lb!!!! Not a lot really but nice and steady is the best way.

I actually think I have an OCD I become so obsessed with this sort of thing! After every meal and any exercise I log in and log it all on. I should relax about it all but its taking over my life!!!

The daily plate I have found to be good with the range of food because although an american site-there are foods on it from the UK because its the users who log the food on.

Guys, i dont seem to be able to locate any Asian foods inside the website that i was introduced to. It's real unfortunate seriously. Asian foods are famous for being high in calories, high in fats and etc. Therefore, it would be nice if some members could actually lead me to a specific website meant to calculate one's intake on asian food.

Thanks

Jason

even if you found a website telling you how much of what dish has how much calories, that information wouldn't be accurate at all.  some people use pork fat to grease up the frying pan and use it as a sauce while some use cooking oil.  some use less amount of sugar, and some use little too much sugar while making the sauce.  there is no set recipe for any dish.  everybody has their own way of making it, therefore, calories from each dish from each restaurant will be different.  for example, "one order of sweet and sour pork has 1000 calories" won't be true for most of the sweet and sour pork you eat.

the best way to keep up with your intake calories is to make everything at home - no dining out, no take out, etc.  at home, you know exactly what you put in, and at the ingredient level, it's easy to find out how much of what has how much calories.  imagine you are making pasta.  you can calculate how much of meat has how much calories, how many tomatoes has how much calories, and etc.

Counting calories doesn't help me. Just eat more veggies and less saturated fats. Pay attention to things your body can't digest like "partially hydrogentated soybean oil" and "high fructose syrup" - these are horrible and in a whole lot of foods. Also, you are supposed to eat less but more often.
