Hello, I practice TKD in the UK, just thought I'd say hi, and see if there is anyone else who does TKD in the UK, who fancied saying hello. Not looking to stir politics or anything sinister just asking

Hi Paul, thanks for saying hi, I used to study with the TAGB, I'm now part of a group based in the South West called PUMA, which are now an ITF type group

Awesome. I still think the TAGB is a great Organization to be with no matter how much pounding from others they get. Do u find ITF or TAGB more enjoyable to train in?

I used to train in Judokwan WTF in the UK down south (Weymouth) in the mid nineties and then left. Recently starting training with the GTUK in the midlands who are an ITF based organisation (although not strictly a member of ITF).

I've got to be honest, I prefer it in PUMA, but I try and stay away from politics really. I find it's usually your instructor that makes it enjoyable. I know some people have their beef with the TAGB, but to be honest they've always been alright by me. Like a lot of federations I guess, there are a lot of individuals, the vast majority are really great, some are not so great, but I don't like to get hung up on that. Doesn't matter who you train with, as long as you train hard and follow the tenants, it's all good.

Hi Asterix, good to meet you, thanks for saying hello. I've done some training with the guys in the GTUK (Is that with Master Oldham?), really really nice bunch of guys. Do you mind if I ask, did you join GTUK because you couldn't find any WTF clubs in the Midlands?

Hi, nice to meet you. Hope you don't mind if I check your profile. What's ITA stand for? You're right, PUMA have just left ITF-C. There are some really good points to being a member of the ITF-C, and I enjoyed the time we spent there. I've met loads of awesome people, both in skill and attitude, some genuinely good people, the standard of people in the competitions is good, and seems to be getting better all the time. I found being part of ITF-C in the UK quite good when they first formed the UKITF (which I think was around 2003 but don't quote me). Just before PUMA left there appeared to be a lot of politics, but I don't know everyone's side to that story, so it'd be good maybe for you to give it a go and see what you think of it.
