I'm 14 and run track and started out the season with a hurt knee and wanted to compare my times to other people, any age

mile: start of season 5.39 down to 5.23 (going down even more next meet )

half mile: start of season 2.48(horrible for me) down to 2.38?

quarter mile: 61 only time and a sprint

just hoping i get some times to compare to, thanks

i forget my crosscountry 5k times, but once i get them ill post them

Well, I'm 21, and I've never done track or crosscountry or anything like that. So the only time that I know is that my best mile was somewhere around 5.40 (I time myself periodically on a mile, but normally jog somewhere on the streets where I don't even know how far I go).

Those are some pretty darn good times!

http://usmilitary.about.com/od/marines/l/blfitmale.htm

When a US Marine takes his/her physical fitness test, it's scored.

You're already busting out a mile, anywhere from 21 to 37 seconds FASTER rate than what is necessary to score a perfect score on the Marines Physical Fitness Test for the run.  (The Marines call a 6 minute mile a 'perfect' score for a USMC recruit)

My personal best was in the vicinity of an 8 minute mile, and that was when I was 19, and had come to near the end of my boot camp.

You're doing great!  If you can keep up with combat Marines on your runs... you're in fine shape!!

I am 32 and recently started running over the past few months. My best time (actually done today) is 7.29 for a mile.
