Well I broke down in December and purchased an Xbox 360. My son had an Xbox orginal but after seeing some of the graphics for the new platforms, I got the 360 for me. My wife, who used to work for SONY, warned us away from that particular platform. So, I got Halo 3 and some other games but every forum I am on started talking about Xbox Live and playing games "on line". Not sure I wanted to do that but the system came w/ a free trial subscription. Wow! I was hooked (so was my son but he ain't paying for it ). I have played Halo 3 all the way to the finish on "normal" level. I have purchased many of popular 1st or 3rd person shooter games (Army of 2, Call of Duty 4, etc.). I absolutely love the games and my son and I get some great "together" time as a result. Sometimes, we fight like 2 brothers over which game to play and who will be which character, but it is all in good fun. Anyone else play? Anyone care to evaluate some of the games they have purchased? Tell us what games you love, and why. What games you hate, and why? MODS, maybe a forum just for Gamining? This forum will do for me but just thought I would toss out the idea. I can give people my evaluation of various games as well. For you parents out there: I can give you my opinion of "on-line" play as it pertains to your children. Such as, if you think sailors or inmates curse, spend just 20 minutes of online gaming and you will be in for a torrent of 4 letter words! Some very young "sounding" players are truly awful.....

I also play video games on the PS2 system, but I'm not online. I enjoy the Tenchu series, Mortal Kombat series, Red Ninja/End of Honor, Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks, Tekken series, and the Streetfighter series.
I know I've let loose with a swear word, but work on not doing that as part of discipline and self-control.

I have a PS2 at the house too. The fighting games like Tekken are fun. I have played many of the the Tiger Woods golf games on them as well. My son does all the football and basketball games. Too many buttons to mash and stuff for me to handle. LOLz about the discipline and self control. I heard too much swearing when working in the prison system and on the streets. I rarely swear at video games. Now mind you, that doesn't mean I haven't...

I play COD4, amongst others, online via Xbox live.
Depends on the game as to whether or not my kids play online. I dont even let them watch COD4 (6yo and 9yo) but they play lego star wars and viva pinata etc.
my gamertag is asterix187 if you want to add me.

James plays Halo 3 and way too much I try to limit him 2 1hr blocks a day but thats a fight. Additionally I tie his access and his allowance to his grades. Anything less than a "B" no access no allowance. His ID is Arbiter324 and apparently is pretty good he's beaten everyone that I know except "TJC is Back" who is one of top rated players in the world and lives right around the corner and down the street. I saw your login I'll pass it on to my boy he should be able to tell you most anything that you want to know as far as forums go. He has built about 50 of the maps and made a dozen or so movies off of the game. If I could get him to attack his studies with that kind of enthusiasm... I worried about the profanity but even on family mode it's there and in abundance. Not much you can do except either let em play or don't let em play.

Was that hands up and chin down, or the other way around?
