37 hours and counting
Posted On 10/28/2008 08:12:01 by Jinxi

In 37 hours time, I'll be training. And even though it's (literally) freezing outside, it'll be hard work and will probably hurt, I can't wait.

It's been two weeks since I could get to class because I've been working all over the country. In the 14 days between times, I'll have worked 114 hours with just two days off. I'm cream crackered.

My colleagues at the place I do most of my work know about my taekwondo. When I won the English champs back in March, the company newspaper did a feature and took some pics and someone stuck it up on the wall of the office.

It's actually quite funny as some people still haven't made the connection - in work I wear glasses as it's screen work - so the connection between the one with the specs and the one doing a flying sidekick with a dobok on is quite a leap. My boss didn't even twig until a month ago!

But those who do know often ask me how it's going - and I found myself explaining to one of the guys yesterday how training makes everything else fall into place. And for once, I think he got it.

People think I'm nuts for travelling around the country, fitting training in around work, but I don't care. It's worth it

But some people have their own outlets and respect the fact that I have lines in the sand. The fact that I could kick most of them pretty hard, too, can't be a bad thing either lol.

Do your work/school colleagues know about taekwondo? And what do they make of it?

Oh, and I get my new belt tomorrow too! Good times

Happy training! Jx
