Another step up

And the verdict is... I passed the grading and am now a fully fledged member of the 7th kup club.

Okay not a big deal to some but it felt pretty big in the 24 hours before I graded when I was racked with nerves, the 20 minutes of the actual grading and the four days of having to wait to see how I did!

All three of the 'adult' yellow belts (aged 15ish to me with an 18 year-old in the middle) passed with high marks - and I got an A pass, which made me smile.

As I said before, grading isn't everything but it's a step along the way and another door opened to increased improvement and further knowledge.

Only thing is... the new belts haven't arrived yet so I'm currently beltless - training sans belt is such an alien feeling when you're used to wearing one! I know I'm a green stripe anyway

Don't get me wrong I enjoy writing, interviewing, taking photos and laying out pages I just dislike the atmosphere in my current office and some of the responsisblity.  If I stay in jounralims I'm going to bump myself back down to reporter, handle my assignments and don't worry about running the newspaper.

Every test is a big deal, because honestly the more you test the smaller your testing groups get.

Thanx Hannigan! Jx

contrats on passing my friend, I knew you would do well. thanks for the words of encouragement. I've been thinking about it for a while but i might be going back to school for a culinary arts degree, I know resturants aren't any less stressful but my favorite job was a cook during my college years.

Thanx for the congrats - and good luck if you choose to take the other path. A kitchen may be stressful but in truth stress is in inverse proportion to how much you enjoy something. There are some that would have anervous breakdown doing what I do - whereas I get a buzz (and sometimes a lil stressed too mind). If I tried to I dunno change a fuse connected to a bomb, I'd go nuts. Others thrive on it. It's horses for courses - but if you enjoy it you're getting somewhere :) Jx
