I've been an anime freak my entire life, and the premise of any good anime is martial arts. While being highly exaggerated I find that the principles are the more appealing aspect to me. I've decided to take on martial arts in my life in hopes that I may find some semblence of control. And I have. I've been studying for the last nine months under a 2nd Dan here in Michigan. I've just become a second yellow belt and can't wait to go further. I told myself at the beginning my goal is: "Not to become a black belt, but to be in martial arts the rest of my life." My instructor always mentions if only he had a dime for someone who says, "Oh, I used to be in..." I don't want to be part of those statistics. Other than the noticable physical changes I've been told I'm a lot more collected and harder to agitate. I've been in college for two years and have couldn't find a path I wanted to follow, now I've found it :)

Thank you, I think as long as I can keep learning, not only techniques, but discipline I'll be in for a very long time. How long for you?

I read somewhere that only one out of 10 people who start TKD ever stay in long enough to get a BB after that it is one in 10 that stays long enough to get their 2nd degree but a lot more second degrees percentage wise stay in long enough to get their 3rd.  Just remember a BB is a white belt that didn't quit.  Good luck!!
