right now a war between Georgia and Risua is taking place, where more than 2,000 people have died. And i didn't know a thing about this until a while ago...
I don't know what you are talking about lack of coverage. During the Opening Cermonies they talked about it, on Friday morning at 5 am I was watching news wih fotage of the tanks and bombsing of the air base. Plus it's been all over the web. This has been going on for a while, a lot of small stuff until now (kind of what President Bill Clinton's era with Iraq a lot of political manurvering) then it just went over the edge.
I think that it is a move that Russia is making to re-establish the USSR and bring back their cold war status as a super power. Trust me if it was interfering with our flow of oil you'd be hearing plenty. I understand the the EU and the US are actively engaged with talks but that Russia claims they were attacked and are only defending themselves and their interests. Atroocities went on for years and are still going on and the news agencies have always turned a blind eye. This is no different, I doubt that the coverage of the games has anything to do with it.
