Inner sight

When you look into my eyes, tell me what you see. Do you see my mask of happiness or my hidden misery? I wish you only knew what I felt inside. I wish you did so never would have lied.
When I speak to you, tell me what you hear. Can you hear the cries that are sharp and shear? Do the masks I wear disguise my voice? I wish you could hear if I had the choice.
When I touch your hand, tell me what you feel. Are my hands warm with love or cold like steel? My touch is ice and my body aches. I wish that could change I would do whatever it takes.
When you look into my soul, do you see what I’ve done? If you did I’m sure you would’ve turned and run. My heart is dying and iced with frost bite. I wish you saw with an inner sight.
