a hole in one
Posted On 07/18/2008 09:07:53 by Baby_Huey

So today was sort of fun playing golf in the morning.  It wasn't a special morning or anything, just a little humid.  I was playing in my normal foursome and they have been helping me learn the game.  I was on a par 3, straight as an arrow 372 yards from the mens tees.  I usually drive about 275-300 yards off this tee.

I usually do a couple of pratice swings and then Iine up my shot.  I do a picture your shot thing.  Before I swing I take a deep breath and clear my mind, a lot like when I do my board breaks. Right when I hit the ball I ki haped right when I hit the ball for some reason and it was the most beautiful shot I've ever hit.  I figured I would hit 350 yards are something but it went right into the hole.  As golf tradition I bought a round of drinks (6:30 AM it was coffee) and went on to screw up the rest of my round with bogeys and and double bogeys.

I  don't know why I Ki Haped it must have been from habit or something I'm not really sure.  I have noticed that the better flexability I have from TKD helps in golf and the swing I use in golf helps with torquing the body right to do spin and tornado kicks.

If I ever get a chance to open my own school, there would be a fun opportunity for me, teach golf by day and TKD by night.

WOW! Have you mentioned this to your instructor?? I'm sure they would like to hear about your accomplishment and how your kihap gave you that extra umph. Great job!

No Maam, I have not it.  Class was really full and I didn't have too much time to talk with my instructors.  Plus I was excited about my new truck.

What is the "GOLF" you speak of?  I think I read about it some years back.....

LOL.  I haven't played in over 10 years but my son wanted to get into it so I took him to the driving range (might do that again this week) a few months back.  I had such a slice I actually thought I would hit myself!  Did get one straight w/ my driver and it went all of 300 yards!  I should have stopped then and there but I was having too much fun filling up the pond w/ little white balls!

Congratulations on your accomplishment there Baby_Huey!  Well done!

372 is a l o n g par three!

It should be a par four, the course was redesigned a summer and half ago and they ran out of money for new signs, they have a 512 yard hole that is listed as a par 3, yeah maybe for Tiger Woods.  The whole course use to be a par 3 course but they wanted to host some bigger tourneys so they changed alot of the holes.  I like using my four iron when I'm ticked off because it allows me to bash the living daylights out of the ball.

gongrats!

While i've never hit one I do have some friends that have.  I've been close but usually when the hole is well under 185 and a par 3.  not sure of your course or maybe playing from the tips, but 372 is a l o n g par three!

I played with my father yesterday, have not swung a club in three years and borrowed a set of wilsons from a friend, he is 6'2", i'm not so i did not expect to play well at all, however i played great off the tee, lazered the irons then proceeded to begin the 4 strokes inside 20 yards....  not used to his wedges or putter at all.  but 4 iron off the box was frozen rope to 210.    rough to get to pin high in 2 then take 4 + to get it down.  I did drive 3 greens (short par 3's)
Makes me want to do it again.

LMAO, unlike TKD db, you want the lowest score. See golf and TKD are a great plagwe. Sorry my brain is going haywire
