My promotion test basic kicks
Posted On 06/11/2008 18:48:19 by Conartist

I've just been promoted to 2nd Gup (Red belt).

This is a video of my recent promotion test basic kicks. Can I get some comments?

(Yes, I know I need to pull my knee back more for my side kicks. But other than that, any other comments?)

yeah, my master started to emphasize more control in my lessons. Also, my master specifically told me to just emphasize on technique and control and not the amount of kicks done in the grading. Thanks for the comments.

con kicks pretty hard.  i'm actually impressed with control of his kicks, because he used to kick so hard that his leg would swing around and make him lose balance if he wasn't kicking a bag or a person.

Looks really good!!! If i had any comment to make it would be that the kicks look a bit soft. They are very well executed but i get the feeling if it wasn't the pad you were hitting but rather a bag (or a person) you may struggle a little bit. Its almost like you are pulling the kick slightly to make them look good and controlled. I guess its probably just because it was a grading!!

Keep up the good work, i wish i was that good!!!

nicely done, con.  a lot of improvements since i saw you last.  you are kicking higher with more control.  it looks like you are still not quite comfortable with kicks that require turning and spinning.  that will take some time.  and, please, look at the target when you kick!  you are making me and jro look bad!
