Weekly Bible Readings
Posted On 04/28/2008 05:01:41 by wkkc

So many Martial Arts classes practice Eastern Religion Meditation. Since we are a Christian Karate Class we do not do that, instead we meditate on God's Word, so these are the passages with my thoughts on them for this week.

Over the next few months we are going to be looking at passages on different subjects like, God's love, Loving others, Sin, Forgiveness / Redemption, things like that. We are now on sin and how it affects us and why it is the road to distruction. A lot of these could work for a few of the subjects but we will just go with it.   I read this passage a few times and didn't come up with much to share with you this week. Proverbs is great but it does bounce around a bit but it is so practical. I tell you what, every time I read it something else pops out to me because it covers so many different areas. you should come back to this passage a few times this week and see what God revealed to you. I can't remember the verse but the Bible says that God's word it alive and active. That is so true. Allow it to be alive to you, let Him speak to you. Don't neglect to speak back to Him through prayer either. Tuesday 4/30/2008 Proverbs 11:27-31 27 He who seeks good finds goodwill,
       but evil comes to him who searches for it.
 28 Whoever trusts in his riches will fall,
       but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf.
 29 He who brings trouble on his family will inherit only wind,
       and the fool will be servant to the wise.
 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life,
       and he who wins souls is wise.
 31 If the righteous receive their due on earth,
       how much more the ungodly and the sinner!
 Proverbs 5:21-23 21 For a man's ways are in full view of the LORD,
       and he examines all his paths.
 22 The evil deeds of a wicked man ensnare him;
       the cords of his sin hold him fast.
 23 He will die for lack of discipline,
       led astray by his own great folly.
 Thursday 5/01/2008  Proverbs 10:16-24 16 The wages of the righteous bring them life,
       but the income of the wicked brings them punishment.
 17 He who heeds discipline shows the way to life,
       but whoever ignores correction leads others astray.
 18 He who conceals his hatred has lying lips,
       and whoever spreads slander is a fool.
 19 When words are many, sin is not absent,
       but he who holds his tongue is wise.
 20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver,
       but the heart of the wicked is of little value.
 21 The lips of the righteous nourish many,
       but fools die for lack of judgment.
 22 The blessing of the LORD brings wealth,
       and he adds no trouble to it.
 23 A fool finds pleasure in evil conduct,
       but a man of understanding delights in wisdom.
 24 What the wicked dreads will overtake him;
       what the righteous desire will be granted.
