I'm sick of my flabby abs!
Posted On 04/03/2008 23:13:22 by Yokixx
Ok, ever since I had my daughter my abs have not been the same. Yes I am older as I am pushing 40 but I refuse to think that its my age.  I've seen other women who are older than me and with more kids have flatter abs than me.

I use to be very fit and I know the importance of lifting weights and cardio exercise as well as proper food intake.  I do watch what I eat portion wise as well as for their nutritional values.  I avoid white starches and replace with Whole wheat and grains as well as brown sugar or honey instead of white sugar.  I use Equal for coffee.  Eating more vegetables and fruites etc..

So what is my problem?  My abs use to have some definition but now, I can barely see them.  I can feel them still somewhat but my abs are not defined as they use to be.  I figured eventually I'll get them back if I work hard but its been two years!  My mid section is and has always been one of my problem areas.  Before I had my daughter, my abs had definition.

I don't believe that spot reducing is affective, however it is important to strengthen the muscles so that in produced heat which in turn will burn the fat around that are.

I found this site that talks about the most effective way to do this so I think I am going to give this a try.  A lot of stuff that they mention here makes a lot of sense to me.  If you are feeling as frustrated as me Click Here! and check it out for yourself.

Let me know what you think.

Hi,

i can empathise with you completely, I've had two c-sections and its done nothing for what once was a pretty good mid section!

However,
I'm not sure buying books and DVDs on how to improve them would help.
There are so many people out there getting rich on us unsuspecting folk
striving for a better look. When I'm sure they aren't going to tell you
anything you don't know already.

I
do think that maybe we have to resign ourselves to the fact that we
aren't going to get it back the way it was pre-children unless you
spend four hours a day doing the crunchies etc. I know for me, after my
second c-section i was doing 1000 crunchies a day, which helped loads
with nice tight abs, but it didn't get rid of the flab that sits over
the top!

Once
the stomach has been stretched a couple of times with big bouncing baby
bearing, I truly don't think anyone can regain what they had-even the
super thin stars resort to going under the knife to get back what they
once had.

I
spoke to my other half about my body and how disgusted I was with it
after having second baby-but he said to me that i should be proud that
my stomach housed the two babies and doesn't see it as a problem, which
is sweet but it doesn't stop me covering it up when getting undressed
etc.

I
think maybe you should try and accept the way things are. Its not all
about the outside, you are obviously doing everything right, eating
right etc, we can't all be like Madonna!

On a scale of 1-10 how serious an issue is it??

Saying that, if you feel so strongly about it, you should do what you think and if it works let me know!
