Most annoying thing
Posted On 03/09/2008 11:08:31 by markmwieland

I had the most annoying sparring match yesterday, and I have to bi*ch or I will implode. I was sparring this guy, who thinks he is the best sparrer in the world. All of a sudden I am destroying him with no problems, then he pulled a Rodman, and became the ultimate flopper. He went up with a side kick, I blocked it hard, and he fell and claimed that I knocked the wind out of him, they even called the medics for that! For a block!! After that, everytime that I would come close to scoring, he would flop again, and again, until he had flopped 4 times. The center judge did not stop this atrocity, and I eventually lost because I could not hit him when he was flopping. Lucky for me in the next round he faced the only guy who was a challenge for me last year, and he got is a** handed to him!! He was skunked!! Hah...go back to Cali you looser!!!! Anyways, this goes out to all the peeps that have lost a match in any sport to somoene who has no, or very little integrity. I feel your pain, and believe me, if I EVER see him in a match again, there will be no mercy, he will be desomated, flop or no flop.

Just remember one thing about tournament sparring.....    You can not control the judges.

Seen it far too often that Judges are very partial to "their" fighters.

Let it go.  You both know who won the match even if the judges didn't see it that way.  Next time, and there is always a "next time", give the gentleman a reason to flop.  Or, better yet, use counter techniques rather then attack.  I had a friend in a tournament who was being destroyed when he would attack.  The judges were well behind my friend's opponent.  My friend shifted from offense to counter-attacks.  The look on the other guys face was priceless.  He had no clue how to deal w/ a counter fighter and it showed.  Even the judges could see how unfortable the guy was to initiate any sort of attack.

Live and learn my friend.  Some things we just can not control...

I tried everything on this guy! He was maybe an 7 out of 10 overall, so not that bad, but he had the judges locked onto him because of the flopping....Lucky for me my instructor is the chief of tournaments, and she is going to talk with them..

How did you specifically block the kick?
