What makes a traditional school traditional?

I've written quite a bit about McDojo recently, so now I'm  turning my pen towards the the traditional school.  But what defines a traditional school?  A recent discussion chanced upon just that question: what defines a traditional school?  One of the participants answered that a traditional school is one that "knows the art".

My last blog on the McDojo subject was from the negative standpoint.  And lets face it, the term 'McDojo' is always a pejorative that nodody wants applied to their school.  But as the article says, 'you deserve a break' (for those old enough to remember that add slogan from another famous Mc), so today I'll give one to McDojo.

Health and Fitness -- Strength Training (4 sets for each exercise)

On all four days, I did Power Cleans (explosive -- 5 reps), Seated Russian Twists (Rotational -- 10 reps) and 4 Point Planks (Core Stabilization -- 30 Second reps). All other exercises -- 10 reps.

My Trip to Toronto

Well this will be a long blog so I hope you have patience to read it all through.

My vacation started early Saturday as we left home at 3am. We did not sleep.  We packed our luggages and prepared everything for the trip.  We took a cab from home to the airport.  I often had to calm my mum down. Just a little background, I am in very good shape, with great stamina. I am a second degree black belt with the ATA. The other day I took a class away from my home school in Burien, WA to Master Jo's school in Lynnwood. It was a holiday, so there were not many students, but the workout that I recieved was more than I had done in years.
