Practicing is for Losers

This is a follow on article to one that I previously posted on the two main attitudes that I feel hold color belt students back. The first one that I elaborated on earlier was that there are always new techniques that you must learn to advance or improve. The second is that everything that you need to do to advance and improve is covered in class. Put bluntly, students don't practice outside class.

Secret Blackbelt Techniques

In honor of my one year anniversary of becoming a blackbelt, I thought I would reflect on the common beliefs and flaws I see in my color belt students. I believe there are two main overarching attitudes that hold color belt students back from becoming excellent. Cross Training

Health and Fitness -- Strength Training (4 sets for each exercise)

My last week of power training. The next couple of weeks will most likely be improvised, until I can think of a new way I'd like to train. I did Seated Russian Twists (Rotational -- 8 reps) and Power Snatches (Explosive) on all four days. All exercises: 4 Sets, 4 Reps.
