Music is a part of who I am
Played classical piano from age 4 - can also play brass instruments and can usually pick up and get a note out of any instrument. Can also play xylophone, glockenspeil and, of course, the recorder lol.

Primarily, I'm a rock chick - love rock, heavy metal, alternative stuff the best. But I also like most other stuff too from classical through to hip hop. The only type of music I don't really like is reggae.

LOVE Harry Potter 1-7 and have also read LOTR
Have read all the Sidney Sheldon novels - all brilliant
Have read the Flowers in the Attic set by Virginia Andrews
Some Jackie Collins/Danielle Steel novels
Now branching into Fantasy - have read a couple of Terry Brooks books 'Kingdom for Sale - SOLD' and 'The Black Unicorn' - now reading Ian Irvine. I want to read 'The Belgariad' series by David Eddings after that.
I also read books about another passion of mine - Education - either in terms of 'special needs' ie Autistic Spectrum Disorder or on Gifted Education and the gifted child.

Fighters, TaeKwonDo Females, Over - 40 Martial Artists

This holiday season, share your favorite Taekwando moments with custom photo Christmas cards.

I started Tae Kwon Do here in Australia just after my 44th birthday in June 2006. I joined because my son wanted to do a martial art (he was 7 and a half at the time) and, after 6 months of watching him, I decided I wanted to join in (having done some TKD 20 odd years ago in the UK and also some Shotokan). My then 10 year old daughter also wanted to join in and so the 3 of us train together and it's fantastic to be able to share something with both of my kids. Poomse is my fave part of training although I love it all - and I compete in this, having just won a Gold at the Victorian States and won myself a place on the team. Am considering competing at the Aussie Nationals in September. Belt-wise, I'm not as far along the path as I should be after 2 years of training, but I am constantly striving for excellence and only like to grade when I feel my marks are going to be good.

I am a Brit who then moved to New Zealand end of 2003 with my two kids and their dad to give us all a better life. Sadly, that didn't go according to plan and the kids and I have now settled in Australia where we have been for over 2.5 years now. I am married to an Aussie and he supports my love of Tae Kwon Do which is fantastic.

yeah! thanks for the comment, the photo was taken in Dec 2007, Just new to the black belts club, and really enjoying it. I've  also passed my assistant instructors course and now doing some instructing aswell. so what have you been upto laterly?

Ah, yes - I should have noticed the black belt pic which is your profile pic.  Awesome stuff :)  I still have a long way to go - stuck on one belt level for a long time now because I can't do push ups.  But working on that daily now.  Any advice you can give is welcome.  I sometimes help instruct the Juniors in forms/patterns when our club is short staffed and I love it.

That's very interesting that your club takes into accounts your fittness! before allowing students to grade! Generally gradings are graded on Power, Technical, and Rhythm for patterns and free sparring we look for Defence, Counter Attacks, Stamina and flexibility. The only advice I could give is to start slowly by doing limited amount and add one  or two extra push-ups a week. best of luck uhh!
