I first joined Taekwondo classes in 2000 when I was 10, and stopped 6 months after, when I reached Yellow8. I don't know why but it felt difficult to follow the Poomsae. Maybe it's because my brain wasn't that developed yet.
I rejoined Taekwondo continuing my journey from 8 years ago to becoming a fighter in 2007 November, and have been diligently attending lessons.
Although I am under proper tutelage in WTF-style Taekwondo, I hold my own views towards certain techniques, and certain styles and tactics of sparring.
People always say Muay Thai or whatever other styles are superior to Taekwondo, but I think it's the practitioner, not the style. I so much want to prove these fools wrong, but I need a hell lot more training. If I've an opportunity to spar with a world-class Muay Thai champion, I would, in order to shut down negative comments about Taekwondo. I don't have to win, I just want to prove that Taekwondo is NOT inferior to Muay Thai, nor any other martial art.
